Each set of Darkspeed Slide Pucks are made of the mummified skin from the palms of roaming zombies freshly arisen from the dead. This ultra-tough, slippery skin is carefully harvested by putting each zombie down with a high powered rifle, and then removing the hands which are then transferred to a manufacturing plant which is in a converted mausoleum.
Just kidding. Actually, Darkspeed Slide Pucks are manufactured from partially recycled UHMWPE, which has the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic currently made. UHMWPE has a very low coefficient of friction, is self-lubricating, and is highly resistant to abrasion (15 times more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel). Its coefficient of friction is significantly lower than that of nylon and acetal, (Delrin) and is comparable to that of Teflon, but UHMWPE has better abrasion resistance than Teflon.
Darkspeed Slide Pucks measure 3 inches by 3 ¾ inches by ½ inch thick. They have rounded corners and rounded bevels on the edges to minimize drag, and have "hook" Industrial Velcro® attached to the backs, and are the exact same color as the ice cold hearts of their creators: BLACK
